Pairs of these cymbals are used both in Buddhist temples and for demons

It is said that when the sound of the cymbal reaches full volume, the demons’ brains are split in two.

Smaller of these cymbals are used by dying people to communicate with them. Even rooms in which someone has recently died are “cleaned” with basins. Cymbals are hung at right angles to produce the right sound. Cymbals are also used to relax someone who is hyperventilating while meditating.

The origin of the cymbal is not known, but it is known that cymbals were also made from the seven metals that make up singing bowls. Cymbals come in different sizes, each with its own sound. They are often bare, but there are also many that are richly decorated. Dragons are often depicted with the eight lucky signs, the so-called Astamangalas and the Om Mantra.

In Tibetan Buddhist meditation rituals, cymbals are often used for incantations. Buddha in various aspects, a deity or a spirit is invoked with the sounds of cymbals.

Another purpose of Zimbel is cleaning. The sound of cymbals in all corners of a room releases energetic tensions and the room is then “open” and “neutralized” again.
