Singing bowls

The tradition of singing bowls, also called healing bowls, goes back to 2,000 BC in Asia. Singing bowls consist of an alloy of seven different metals, each of which is assigned to an astrological planet and thus differs in the range of sound and their overtones.
These seven metals are gold for the sun, mercury for Mercury, copper for Venus, iron for Mars, tin for Jupiter, and lead for Saturn.
The shape of these bowls can be chosen in size, depth, color, and circumference.
Singing bowls can be used as cooking pots, gift bowls, percussion instruments, and for meditation and relaxation. The special sound is that not only some specific sound but also special vibrations are generated.
According to science, music can have a direct impact on mood, brain waves, the nervous system, and body chemistry. Music plays a key role in the spirituality and religion of many cultures and is also used to promote sleep and digestion, as well as to reduce mental disorders.

It is alleged that renowned Tibetan masters use the sound of the singing bowls in secret rituals, by virtue of the sound of the singing bowls gaining freedom from their material body. There is a connection between shells and Ayurvedic music therapy and Ayurvedic medicine.
Nepalese women eat their meals from singing bowls to absorb lost minerals and iron.
There are five basic techniques for playing singing bowls: beating, circling, filling with water, filling in toneless vowels, and spinning.
Singing bowls are called Tagoo in Mongolia, Jala Tarang and Ghatam in India and China, and Noot in Kashmir.
The seven phases of complete singing bowl relaxation include first the head, then the arms, thirdly the neck, fourthly the back, then the abdomen and chest, sixthly the face, and then a circle around the neck.

Promoting self-esteem and assertiveness Hold the singing bowl in the palm of your left hand and lightly tap the bat against the side of the bowl. Use even pressure to rub the brass knuckle around the outside edge of the bowl. Use a full arm movement, just like a cauldron of soup, and keep the striker straight up and down.

It is not a wrist movement, but a full arm movement. Remember to apply pressure – the friction of the matchstick against the outer edge creates vibrations that make a noise. Let the sound rise slowly as the singing bowl picks up the vibration
