Singing Bowls

The tradition of singing bowls, also called healing bowls, dates back to 2,000 BC in Asia. Singing bowls are made of an alloy of seven different metals, each of which is assigned to an astrological planet. Singing bowls can be used as spiritual instrument and for meditation and relaxation.

Buddhism

Early Buddhism emphasizes that the goal of every individual is to seek freedom from the chain of rebirth, thus freeing oneself from all earthly suffering and death. The word that describes this goal is the expression ‘nirvana’.

Making the statues

One of the oldest and most widespread methods of making metal statues in Nepal is that of lost wax casting. This method is said to have been passed on by the Shakya clan, who learned it during trading trips to Tibet.
